Big Bucks

The festive season is upon us, so why not grab your woolly hat and scarf and come to Ascot’s Christmas Meeting Family Raceday on Saturday 17th December.

Off the track join in the festive fun by taking a spin around the ice rink (please note that this will be artificial ice), take a ride on the fairground rides, enjoy some storytelling in the Bandstand or even meet Santa’s Reindeer!

Ascot’s most valuable day of Jumps racing, featuring the Grade 1 £100,000 Long Walk Hurdle.

The Long Walk is Ascot’s highest quality hurdle race, and has fallen previously no less than three times to the great Baracouda, who was trained in France by Francois Doumen.

Legendary stayer Big Buck’s features among nine entries for the Lough Derg Long Walk Hurdle at Ascot on Saturday.

The Paul Nicholls-trained three-time World Hurdle winner secured his 13th successive victory in the Long Distance Hurdle at Newbury on his seasonal reappearance and now goes for hat-trick in this Grade One event.

The Christmas Meeting wouldn’t be complete without a visit from Father Christmas, who will be waiting in his grotto to give a gift to every child subject to being good this year and availability.

End the day with a Christmas carol concert to get you in the festive mood. Song books are provided free of charge and audience participation is encouraged! What better way to start your Christmas celebrations.
