31 Mar Big hitters Kaymer and McDowell confirmed for PGA Championships at Wentworth
Last month images of world number one and defending BMW PGA Champion Rory McIlroy were prominently displayed across Greater London alongside the 2013 US Open winner Justin Rose to promote the event.
Kaymer, who is halfway to the career grand slam, is aiming to add the BMW International Open title to his haul of honours.
He said: “The BMW PGA Championship has always been high on my list of priorities, and it’s pretty cool to be featured alongside such a famous aerial view of London and to know that so many people will be able to associate my image with The European Tour’s flagship event at Wentworth.”
McDowell, who missed last year’s BMW PGA Championship in order to be with his then pregnant wife Kristin in Florida, is delighted to be back at Wentworth Club for the 12th time.
He commented: “It was frustrating to pass up an opportunity to play in our flagship event, but family comes first, and I am now ready to put all my focus on trying to win this prestigious title.
“Wentworth is very close to central London, so it can only be good for the Championship to hopefully draw the attention of golfers and non-golfers alike to what’s happening a few miles away in Surrey.”
Advance tickets, with a discount on the gate price, are available for the practice day on Tuesday, May 19, the celebrity pro-am day on Wednesday, May 20 and all four days of the championship from May 21-24.
