From the Royal Parks to Rio: Leading estate agency Barton Wyatt supports Charlotte’s Half Marathon

On an unusually beautiful, clear sunny day in October, Charlotte Ashton, Trustee of the Frontiers Foundation, lined up at the start in Hyde Park, ready to commence her next challenge, the Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon.

Charlotte, along with 16,000 other entrants, the biggest number to date, volunteered to run the 13.2 miles through Central London on Sunday 6th October to raise funds for the Frontiers Foundation, a grassroots UK charity which is supporting Project Crescar, a children’s scheme operating in the deprived favelas of Rio de Janiero, Brazil.

Charlotte, who also runs a property PR agency, AB Property Marketing, was generously supported in her run by longstanding client, leading Surrey estate agency, Barton Wyatt, who donated £150 to the Frontiers Foundation.

The race kicked off at 9 am sharp, starting on South Carriage Drive in Hyde Park before passing through Wellington Arch and into Green Park, running down to say hello to the Queen at Buckingham Palace before continuing around St James’s Park, past the Houses of Parliament and over Westminster Bridge.

A quick time check courtesy of Big Ben and Charlotte and her fellow runners were eating up the miles, running along the Embankment down to Temple station before heading back up towards Trafalgar Square and through the grand Admiralty Arch. Support along the route from hundreds of thousands of well-wishers was immense and really spurred the weary runners on as they passed down the Mall and back into Hyde Park for the second half of the race.

Running alongside The Serpentine provided a cooling breeze before the route snaked up and around the north side of Hyde Park before heading into the beautiful Kensington Gardens for the final 3 miles. 2 hours and just 1 minute later, Charlotte was crossing the finish line on Kensington Road, just past the iconic Royal Albert Hall to whoops and cheers from the crowd. She comments:

“The Royal Parks Half was by far one of the best races I have ever taken part in. The scenery, the support and the stunning weather all came together to create a superb experience; I’m so glad that I took part. I’m also very grateful to all the team at Barton Wyatt for their generous support of the Frontiers Foundation which made the run all the more worthwhile.”

Over £4,500 has already been raised by the Frontiers Foundation for Project Crescar with only a further £500 required to reach the target so for more information please visit http://www.propertyfrontiers.com/understand-us/frontiers-foundation or call 01865 202 700.
