Surrey Property Trends in 2018

With 2019 only a couple months away now, the year is fast drawing to a close, and that means that our team at Barton Wyatt Surrey estate agents have been reflecting on property trends in 2018. To help you get a better feeling for what it is like to buy a property for sale in Virginia Water and surrounding areas in Surrey, we’ve put together a quick rundown of what we’ve discovered.

National Property Trends

To give a comparison for trends in Surrey, the national average asking prices for properties has fluctuated very little. In September, there was a 1.2% increase compared to 2017, bringing the average asking price to £301,061. This shows that the property market is very steady at the moment, which is good to know for both those looking to buy and those looking to sell. There are no erratic fluctuations, but enough movement to keep sales quick.

Property Trends in Surrey

Overall in the South East, property prices fell by 0.1%, bringing the average to £406,920, with each property taking an average of 64 days to sell. In Surrey however, prices increased by 1.19% to £601,607, which reflects the ever growing appeal of the countryside county. The increase is above the national average, however not large enough to cause concern to anyone looking to buy. With prices expected to rise further next year, it’s the ideal time to purchase property in Surrey.
